Indication
:
Tx. Tapewarm infestation
Mechanism
of action :
Inhibits
oxidative phosphorylation of ATP by mitochondria or stimulation
of ATPase activity.

Contraindication
:
Hypersensitivity to niclosamide.
Precaution
: After taking niclosamide 2 hr then
given laxative. Avoid alcohol between of treatment.
Drug
Interaction : Alcohol;
niclosamide is soluble in alcohol. There increasing the absorption of drugs into the body. It can
cause adverse reactions.
Side Effect : -Less common; Abdominal or stomach cramps or pain, diarrhea, loss
of appetite, n/v.
-Rare; Dizziness or
lightheadedness, drowsiness,ractal itching , skin rash, unpleasant taste.

parameters :
Stool examinations
Usual
Dose :
First day; Adult and children>6 year 4 tab
daily(initially 2 tab then 2 tab after 1 hr), 2-6 year 2 tab daily, <2 year
1 tab daily. For another six day; ½ given dosage.
Patient
Education :
Chew tablets thoroughly; tablets can be pulverized and mixed with water to form
a paste for administration to children; can be taken with food; a mild laxative
can be used for constipation.
Missed
Dose : Taking
ASAP; not taking if almost time for next scheduled dose. Do not double doses
Auxiliary
labels : The tablets are
intended to be chewed before swallowing.
